WELCOME

We are so delighted you are here working toward your Permaculture Design & Teacher Certificates. Thank you for dedicating your time and effort to doing something so positive. In this booklet, we aim to answer all the questions about how to get your certificates and the most out of this course. If there’s something else you need to know, please email us.

How to get my certificates?

Successful completion of projects 1-3 will qualify you for your Permaculture Design Certificate.
• Project 1: Site Analysis
• Project 2: Zone 1 (Kitchen Garden) Design
• Project 3: Final Permaculture Design Project for whole site

On completion of projects 4-6, you will qualify for your Permaculture Teacher Certificate.
• Project 4: Design your education program
• Project 5: Deliver your education program
• Project 6: Review your education program

Personalised feedback is given on each part. After accepting your first 3 projects, we send your digital Permaculture Design Certificate. After the final 3 projects, we send your Teacher Certificate.

When are my projects due?

There are NO DUE DATES. Simply submit each project when you are ready. We recommend you aim to finish the program within 12 months. We are excited to help you complete this course and flourish!

Can I see examples?

YES, of course. That is so helpful. Within HIVE and the Design Studio, Education Lab & Project Sharing Archives you can find lots of great examples of other people’s work for inspiration.

Where can I do my design?

Your permaculture design project can be
completed on a place of your choosing - your own place or a parcel of land you can access throughout the course. This could be a small urban site or a rural farm, or could also be a school garden, community garden or other common space. Just ask us if you are not sure.

Where can I do my teaching?

Your permaculture teaching project can also be completed at a place of your choosing - at your site, a local community garden or community centre, at a school or online. We’ve even had people making films, musicals, and even a book!

Need help?

Post your questions in HIVE and tag Morag
Gamble, and/or come along to our 30 minute Drop In sessions each month.

How do I submit projects?

When you’ve completed a project, share it with us via our online submission form. In the form you can drop your Google Drive (or similar cloud-based drive) access link; or upload the files directly to the form.

We suggest that your final design project and your education program design be presented live at a Project Sharing Session (nominate yourself in HIVE) or as a 10 minute presentation recording sent with your submission

Worksheets

Leading up to the first project task, there are 6 worksheets and a series of working drawings we suggest you complete. These are not assessed, but we love you to share them & it’s a good way to check-in too. You will find these in the ACTION section of course modules.
